Cleared for Landing

From this angle, it almost looks as if Christopher Chan of Los Angeles Valley College is walking on air ... or shooting pool (really look at it.)

But of course, he's clearing the bar during his pole vault rotation. Chan eventually won the event with a vault of 13' 9 1/2" at a recent meet at Valley.

I took this shot with the intention of rotating it for a conventional view, but why be a slave to convention when this angle makes it a better picture.
