Had to BEE There

After I delivered photos to UCLA to complete an assignment from earlier in the week, I stopped by the Getty Museum to check out the new exhibits and to shoot photos in the large and colorful garden. I was hoping a few bees would be flitting around and I got my wish. As much as I shy away from the critters, I still like tempting fate and getting as close to them as possible.I'd read that my camera of choice for the day, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 super zoom (18X) point and shoot camera, was also great for shooting things close up. The camera lived up to the hype.I didn't crop this photo very much and, at10 megapixels, I can make a pretty big blow-up ... if I so desired.I like the detail in the wings and the fact the bee was too busy with pollen duties to bother with stinging me which keeps my never-been-stung-by-a-bee streak in tact.

What an incredible shot! The only reason your record is intact is because I gave up my shoulder for you, taking on the bee to keep your record safe.
