The Arrival of 600
The Yankees' Alex Rodriguez (l) is a happy man! He seems to be saying "Wow!" as he gets the double high-five greeting of teammate Derek Jeter at home plate in Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez hit his 600th career home run after going almost two weeks since his last homer. He becomes the 7th man to hit at least 600 home runs. Toronto pitcher Shaun Marcum gave up the two-run first inning shot to center field. The ball landed in the famed Monument Park where Yankee legends are enshrined. A security guard to retrieved the ball was given an autographed bat and ball by Rodriguez in exchange for the specially marked home run ball. Umpire Tim McClelland looks on as a witness to history.
