THE GREAT BLUES guitar man Buddy Guy has a new book on the shelves recounting his nearly 76 years on this earth. Most of that time has been spent with an axe in his hands. He's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
BUDDY PERFORMED in New York at the outdoor stage of the World Financial Center - next to the Hudson River - with a lot of energy and style. I tried to capture those traits in this photo. His long fingers raced up and down the fretboard with amazing speed.
BUDDY LOOK'S like he could have been posing for this shot in the 1950's when he started performing. I wanted to convey a sense of his music being timeless and black and white helps with that sentiment.
BUDDY GUY'S large hands have played millions of notes down through the years. But each note - it seems - has expressed deep feelings from a man who has been around the world playing the blues since the early 1950's.
